Red Foxes are native to the British Isles and cover all over the country. After the second world war the habitat of foxes started to change, as newly introduced transport allowed people to work farther away from their home which lead to the increase in suburban housing being established in rural areas.
Foxes quickly became urbanised and adapted to take advantage of the newly available food sources that these new houses provided. Foxes are so accustomed to living near people now that they have spread into the inner cities.
Foxes are mainly only seen at night and are usually nocturnal however urban foxes are becoming more and more prominent during the day.
All fox traps are required to be checked at least once every 24 hours, but are recommended to check every 12 hours if possible!
